Recreation board meeting notes: 03.11.08

• Council on Aging newsletter. 

• Reports:

  • Winter programming

    • Finalized with the School Dept the gyms for basketball

    • Still a recreational program

    • Middle school league will go on.

    • $100 for ten weeks (up to 5th grade) (skills)

    • $165 for middle school (skills, game and jersey)

    • Asked parents from middle school to be coaches. 

  • Recreation staff is involved in the staffing of all the Christmas events. 

  • Shannon Grant closed for this year last week

  • Will be in Winthrop on Wednesday on the Shannon Grant presentation.

  • Employee activities (something new).  Staff activities for staff outside of working hours.  Got feedback from the staff.  First one is women's self-defense class.  Then will do pickleball, basketball, etc.  Working with business to get sponsors.
