Quincy Votes! has partnered with Rock the Vote to offer voter registration tools to Quincy residents.
If you have a Massachusetts ID, you can submit our voter registration form online. If you do not have a Massachusetts ID, the website will prompt you to print out the form and return it to the clerk’s office.
September 1 Primary Elections
Primary elections are held when there are multiple candidates from the same political party seeking office. Primaries allow voters narrow down the candidates. The candidate who receives the most votes in the primary will move onto the November 3rd general election.
There will be both Democratic and Republican primaries on September 1st, and voters may only vote in one party primary.
If you are registered Democrat, you can only vote in the Democratic Primary.
If you are registered Republican, you can only vote in the Republican Primary.
If you are unaffiliated, you can choose which primary you’d like to vote in.
On September 1st, Quincy residents will have a chance to narrow the field of candidates in federal, state, and county races.

Early Voting
All early voting will take place at Quincy City Hall, 1305 Hancock St.
August 22 - 23, 8:30 am - 2:30 pm
August 24 - 28, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Vote by Mail
The deadline to apply to vote by mail is 5pm on August 25th, but we encourage voters to apply sooner to ensure they can return their ballot on time.
All mail-in ballots must be received by 8 pm on September 1st.
Mail your ballot no later than August 25th to ensure it is received on time.
Forgot to mail your ballot? You can return your ballot at City Hall (1305 Hancock St) in the drop-box located outside or to the City Clerk’s office directly (2nd floor).

Who can vote?
You can register to vote in Massachusetts if you are:
A U.S. citizen
A resident of Massachusetts
18 years or older
Not currently incarcerated for a felony conviction

Can renters vote?
Yes, renters have the same voting rights in local elections as homeowners do, and living at a rental address qualifies you to register and vote!
You qualify to vote as long as you are a U.S. citizen living in the city of Quincy and are not also voting in another town, municipality, or state.
Renters are a very important demographic in Quincy. Quincy is 54% renters so renters should have a strong voice in Quincy local elections
