What’s on the ballot?

In 2025, Quincy residents will be voting on:

  • All nine seats on the City Council

  • Three of the seats on the School Committee

Quincy local government is directly responsible for:

  • Taxes

  • Rent costs and affordable housing

  • Parks & Recreation

  • Public works, such as streets, sewers, etc.

  • Police & Fire departments, emergency medical systems (EMS)

  • Library services

  • Education

  • Elder services

  • Zoning (how many condos/single-family homes/parkland usage)

  • Passing ordinances


When do I vote?

Election Day

Tuesday, November 4

7 AM - 8 PM

Early Voting at Quincy City Hall

October 25, 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM

October 27–31, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Voting by Mail?

Return your ballot at the drop box outside Quincy City Hall by 8 pm on November 4

OR

Mail your ballot by October 30 to be received on time 


Who can vote?

You can register to vote in Massachusetts if you are:

  • A U.S. citizen

  • A resident of Massachusetts

  • 18 years or older

  • Not currently incarcerated for a felony conviction

Can renters vote?  

Yes, renters have the same voting rights in local elections as homeowners do, and living at a rental address qualifies you to register and vote!

You qualify to vote as long as you are a U.S. citizen living in the city of Quincy and are not concurrently voting in another town, municipality, or state.

Renters are a very important demographic in Quincy. Quincy is 54% renters and hence renters should have a strong voice in Quincy local elections
