Why do you believe you are the best candidate to represent Quincy residents at this time?
I believe I am the best candidate for representation of an At Large position because my drive is built through dedication and strong connection to the community of Quincy. My background in philosophy, law and ethics provides me a solid foundation to understand complex issues and work towards fair solutions. My experiences have fueled my desire to make a meaningful impact and contribution to the City of Quincy. It is my intention to dedicate and expand my responsibilities and purpose in my life. It is my intention to represent the City of Quincy. I have a good reputation and understanding through every experience life has given me.
I want to include my wishes for the very best to all candidates in this election. Thank you.
What three issues are you most concerned about, and if elected, how will you address them?
If elected, the three concerns:
I would like to address and maintain focus and effort on transparency and accountability in City finances. With my investment in communication I hope to build the relationship between city leadership and the residents through simple public reports and accessible meetings.
Another concern and focus would be responsible development that respects Quincy’s character. I would like to ensure development that aligns with the principles to preserve the existing and strong qualities that make the City of Quincy special. I believe a balance in progress and the protection of preservation is imperative.
Supporting both the young and respectfully experienced is an essential focus. A combination of future and foundation. Both the youth and seniors hold important and valued positions within our community. If elected I intend to engage in communication to build an understanding of current needs and resources that increase opportunity and quality of life.
These concerns would be a starting place.
If elected, what steps will you take to ensure responsiveness and clear communication between you and the Quincy community?
If elected, in the efforts to ensure responsiveness and clarity between myself and the Quincy community I intend to launch a recurring roundtable form of communication to provide updates in direct terms on local government decisions, community planning, financial updates, and upcoming civic matters.
What do you plan to do about Quincy’s $1.6 billion debt?
The current debt is acknowledged and with that said my approach as Council at Large would be grounded in financial responsibility, transparency and the protection of the long term health of the city by working closely with financial committees, carefully reviewing proposals, as well as asking questions about larger projects and any project that may present question. The approach gives an opportunity that balances the expenses and maintenance a beautiful city incurs with financial strength for ultimate success for the long term.
What do you think is the most important role of being a City Councillor?
The most important role of a City Council member is to be a consistent and sincere voice for the residents. To be a person who listens carefully, communicates clearly and takes real action on behalf of the community. It’s about building trust, staying accessible, and making sure every decision is guided with a deep respect. I believe that is not limited to representing the concerns of residents, but including finding meaningful and balanced solutions that move the city forward while protecting what makes the city of Quincy special.
What will you do to increase civic participation and voter turnout in Quincy?
I plan to incorporate and share upcoming dates into every conversation I am apart of; in order to promote the opportunity for all; regardless of perspective or opinion; to participate in the election together.
Will you advocate for the City Council to allow the opportunity for public comment at every City Council meeting?
Yes
